This week marks the delivery of our third Short Switch™ programme of this academic year for researchers at the University of Manchester.
Short Switch™ is a practical training course designed to introduce researchers to the core skills needed for effective engagement beyond academia. Through four interactive workshops, participants explore consultancy, project management, knowledge exchange, and alternative career paths, supported by one-to-one coaching and expert-led sessions.
This cohort will take part in the two-week format, combining structured group learning with personalised mentoring to help researchers apply what they learn to their own contexts and goals.
With an average participant rating of 4.5 out of 5 across the year so far, the programme continues to offer a solid foundation for those starting to explore opportunities outside academic settings.
