On behalf of Oxentia, we recently delivered a two-part programme helping researchers from Aspect and the British Academy explore how to commercialise their research for governments and NGOs.
The sessions explored how researchers can turn expertise and early interest into credible opportunities with governments and NGOs. Participants considered how these organisations identify needs, assess public value, commission work and judge whether an opportunity is viable and deliverable.
The training combined practical tools, applied activities and insights from academic entrepreneurs and investment specialists. A supporting Playbook helped participants continue developing their ideas after the sessions.
Feedback from both cohorts highlighted the value of practical, well-structured training that helps researchers understand how to engage with public and not-for-profit markets.
